Rush’s “Caress of Steel” Reissued on High-Quality Vinyl

Rush: Caress of Steel Vinyl Reissue1975 was quite a year for Rush, which released two albums, both of which have been newly remastered and re-released this year on vinyl. The first, Fly By Night, was reissued in January, and now the second album from 1975, Caress of Steel, has been given the star treatment.

The original analog masters of the album from the Canadian trio of Geddy Lee (bass/vocals/keyboards), Alex Lifeson (guitar) and Neil Peart (drums) were remastered on 200-gram vinyl at Abbey Road Studios using the Direct to Metal Mastering (DMM) process. When originally released, Caress of Steel only made it to #148 on the Billboard album charts. However, it has achieved Gold status in the years since and is considered the group’s entry into harder prog rock.

The remastered Caress of Steel, which is part of a reissue campaign of Rush’s albums with Mercury Records, is available here.
