Tony Campos Joins Fear Factory

Metal bass mainstay Tony Campos has announced that he’s leaving the ranks of Soulfly to join Fear Factory. The bassist, who is best known for his time in the now defunct Static-X, made the announcement on Facebook while on the road with Ministry.

“Big announcement time. Now that I’m back out on the road with Ministry, I can go ahead and tell you all what’s going on without confusing everyone,” he wrote. “After I’m done with this Ministry run, I will begin playing bass for Fear Factory. This is the gig I wanted when Static-X was falling apart, and I’m really excited that I finally get to do it. My first show with them will be at Amnesia Rock Fest on June 20th, the day after I play with Ministry at Amnesia Rock Fest.”

Campos went on to thank Max Cavalera and the Soulfly crew, with whom he recorded three albums over the last four years. He will be taking over the bass position for Fear Factory from Matt DeVries, who has been filling in for tours.
