Spector Introduces Limited Edition Mike Starr Signature Euro4LX Bass
Spector Basses has introduced a new Mike Starr Signature version of their Euro4LX bass. Available as a limited edition, the bass is crafted in the company’s Czech factory and will only be available for order in the 2015 calendar year.
“We started working with Mike on this before he passed away,” Spector’s PJ Rubal told us. “He’s known for his NS-2’s, but he also had Czech and Korean basses that he used. After he passed away, the family reached out to me to finish the bass saying that’s what they wanted for him. We’re making them for this year in honor of Mike for the family and the fans.”
The bass features a maple body that’s finished in a white gloss that extends up the back of its maple neck. Starr’s signature and “1966-Forever” are adorned on the back of the headstock, while the bass’s rosewood fretboard sports a special Starr inlay at the 12th fret. It’s fitted with a set of EMG P/J pickups matched to Spector’s TonePump preamp. Controls include separate volume knobs for each pickup, treble boost, bass boost, and an internal output trim pot.
The Spector Euro4LX Mike Starr LE Signature Model is available with a list price of $3,499.99.

Who is Mike Starr?
Was one of the bassists for Alice In Chains. Died in 2011.
Sad to learn.
Interesting the number of players, acc. to Spector’s own website, that own the Korean models. A bit heavy for my tastes, but solid basses.
