Between the Buried and Me Releases Concept Album
Between the Buried and Me’s seventh album, Coma Ecliptic, is a full-on rock opera, according to Dan Briggs, bassist and songwriter for the progressive metal group.
As he told Metal Insider, “Roughly, it’s a story about a guy who’s in a self-induced coma and ends up traversing these different worlds that manifests themselves over the course of three different songs on the album that are all pretty different, trippy environment that he ends up in. How it unfolds from there – we’ll leave until everybody can experience the record. It’s a pretty good story. I’m pretty excited about it.”
The album also includes a greater focus on melody and leaner vocals, Briggs told Metal Insider. “…there’s less of an abrasive metal influence. It’s more of an outwardly progressive musical statement – a melodic statement.”
