Meshell Ndegeocello: Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood
Today is Meshell Ndegeocello’s birthday, so we wanted to celebrate with another video by the talented bassist/vocalist.
In this clip, Meshell performs a cover of “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood”. The song was written for Nina Simone, who recorded it in 1964. A year later, The Animals released their hit version.
Meshell makes it groove.
What a beautiful song!
I wish the bass were louder, but MeShell sounds great even though I wish she still played her Jazz.
There’s nothing like a good ol’ precision. Not even jazz can touch it :P
Does anyone know what kind of guitar that is
Looks like a Tele Custom to me..early 1970s
This was excellent , finally a good song.
Fantastic! Just wish I could hear the bass a bit more.. of course.
Good version of a classic tune….Smooth and deliberate bass work??
Very nice version on this one. Her voice is great too!
YES! Love that… Meshell is one of the tastiest players around. (& the bass seems perfectly fitted to the mix in my headphones. Actually, a bit loud compared to the way I know some people would mix it, but I like it. ;)
Beautiful, soulful and groovy. Meshed rules!
Beautiful. When I saw her play in Austria many years ago I decided to become a bass player.
