Peterson Tuners Introduces PitchGrabber Mobile Tuner

Peterson PitchGrabber Mobile Tuner

Peterson Tuners is bringing together hardware and mobile apps with their latest release, the PitchGrabber Mobile. The clip-on tuning pickup works by capturing you instrument’s vibration via piezo and sends the signal to your mobile tuning app via the headphone/mic input on your mobile device.

The PitchGrabber Mobile can clip onto the headstock of electric basses or the bridge of double basses, while soft rubber pads on the clip’s jaws protect your instrument. Peterson says the fabric wrapped cable provides durability and can is long enough to position the tuner without impeding your movement. Its impedance-matched 3.5mm output jack automatically activates the line-in input on both iOS and Android devices. Due to the active circuit design, negligible power is drawn from the mobile device and consumable batteries are not required.

The Peterson PitchGrabber Mobile is available with a MSRP of $19.99.

  1. It’s nice that it’s not battery dependent, and I’m sure it uses little on the phone’s. But this simply isn’t as convenient as it sounds, guitar tuner apps are more for those spontaneous or desperate situations. In a professional environment if I’ve forgotten my clip on or my pedal I’m not going to remember my phone clip tuner… Nice concept though and looks really well made.
