The Zombies Release New Album, Mount Unusual Tour
The Zombies, the British rock band known for 1960s pop hits “She’s Not There,” “Tell Her No,” and “Time of the Season” have released the album Still Got That Hunger with a lineup featuring Jim Rodford (Argent, The Kinks) on bass.
Rodford’s son’s Steve also handles the drumming duties for the band, which features original members Rod Argent on keyboards and Colin Blunstone on vocals.
“Each complete take on the new album was performed live,” Colin Blunstone said in an interview with Rolling Stone. “We had the luxury of touching up some things, but in essence, it’s live in the studio.
Take a listen to “I Want You Back Again” (a new version of the band’s 1965 song) from Still Got That Hunger:
At the same time the band is supporting the new record on the road, it’s also performing its 1968 classic album, Odessey and Oracle, in its entirety. While Rodford will perform with the band on songs from the new record, Chris White, who handled bass/co-songwriting duties during the band’s 1960s heyday, will step back in for the Odessey and Oracle tunes, as will drummer Hugh Grundy.
