Seymour Duncan Adds Quarter Pound Pickup for 5-String P-Bass to Standard Lineup

Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound For 5-String P-Bass PickupsAfter producing the model through their custom shop for several years, Seymour Duncan has announced that the Quarter Pound for 5-String P-Bass has been added to their regular pickup lineup. The pickup is designed to retrofit into any Fender or equivalent 5-string P-Bass model with a 6-pole/4-pole offset design.

It features large diameter Alnico 5 rod magnets and a high output coil wind, which the company says delivers “classic upper-midrange power and punchy attack.” Each pickup is hand built in Santa Barbara, California using Forbon flatwork. It’s also vacuum wax potted for squeal free performance.

The Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound For 5-String P-Bass Pickup comes with black covers and a 2-conductor hookup cable. It’s available now with a street price of $119.95.

  1. I like Seymour Duncan products. Put a 1/4 Pounder P-Bass replacement of theirs in an ’80’s Yamaha B-Series bass and was very happy. A few years later I routed a Basslines MM into a Fender P-Bass.and was VERY happy. A
    great upgrade for the money and hassle.
