Roberto Badoglio Forms New Band, Releases Album

Beyond Turbines: Beyond TurbinesItalian jazz bassist Roberto Badoglio has formed a new band, called Beyond Turbines, which has released its self-titled debut album.

The band, which also features featuring German guitarist Bjossi Klütsch and American keyboardist Steve Hunt, describes the album as “high-energy progressive fusion. . . intricately arranged yet laced with free-flowing extended improvisations…”

“After working with Steve on my first solo record Re-Evaluation Time, I always had in mind the idea of forming a real band together with him,” Badoglio said. In 2010, Badoglio also connected with Klütsch. The three began touring as the Re-Evaluation Time band, and found they had a great synergy in all ways. “We started composing tunes taking in mind the concept of telling a story, [and] this is the direction we are going to keep also for the future,” he said. “We are all really proud of the result reached with this debut album, and we can´t wait to record the second one and to bring this music around as well.”
