Ibanez Introduces SR300E with Upgraded Electronics
Ibanez is stepping up their SR300 series with the SR300E basses, featuring upgraded pickups and electronics. The models, which come in four-, five-, and six-string versions, aim to bring a high quality of tone and control to a lower price point.
The lineup centers around Ibanez’s new Powerspan dual coil pickups that have stainless steel poles to improve output, clarity, and fullness, the company says. A Power Tap switch toggles between three modes: Normal Tap (Single Coil), Series (Humbucking), and Power Tap (Normal Tap with a boosted low end). Further tonal tweaking is had with a 3-band EQ.
The SR300E is built with a mahogany body, a five-piece maple and rosewood neck, and a rosewood fretboard. Hardware includes an Accu-cast B120 bridge and Ibanez tuners.
The SR300E, SR305E, and SR306E are available now with price points starting at $349 for the four-string.
