Talking Technique: Pedalling

There are only so many hours in the day, so it’s always great to figure out ways to make the best use of your practice time. One way to get the biggest use of your practice is to combine different topics to bolster your understanding: music theory with song learning, rhythmic accuracy with slapping, phrasing with fretboard knowledge, and so on. This style of practicing takes more focus, but it’s worth it.

This week we’re tackling practicing our scales while working on our right hand technique. As with all my favorite exercises, the musical application is also plentiful. We’ll be using pedal notes in our scales to understand how each note fits into the tonality of the scale.

Watch until the end to get this week’s tip!
