Oz Noy Gets Funky on Latest with Will Lee and Roscoe Beck

Oz Noy: Who Gives a FunkGuitarist Oz Noy, whose music blends jazz, funk, rock, blues and R&B, focuses on the funk this time around with the appropriately titled album, Who Gives a Funk.

Bassist Will Lee, most well-known for his work in the bands for David Letterman’s late-night shows, and a longtime Noy collaborator, appears on the album, as does bassist Roscoe Beck (Robben Ford, Leonard Cohen, Eric Johnson).

Ford, John Medeski, Dweezil Zappa, funk pioneer Fred Wesley, Chris Potter, Randy Brecker, Joe Bonamassa and Living Colour vocalist Corey Glover all guest on the album, which is inspired by late 1960s and early 1970s funk and blues and mixes originals with covers of James Brown, Sam Cooke and Jimi Hendrix tunes.
