Cog Effects Introduces Knightfall 66 and Mini 66 Overdrive Pedals

Cog Effects Knightfall 66 and Mini 66 Overdrive Pedals

Cog Effects has discontinued their Knightfall pedal to create two new stompbox offerings: the Knightfall 66 and Mini 66 Overdrives. Each pedal is built one at a time with true bypass switching, engraved aluminium enclosure and no PCB-mounted jacks.

The Knightfall 66 has two Gain knobs with an A/B footswitch so users can have two different drives dialed in. Both Gain knobs then have separate level controls to keep the level balanced between the channels. Its Voice knob adjusts the amount of bass that is put into the clipping circuit, while the Tone knob cuts highs post clipping.

The pedal’s clean channel is filtered to blend with the overdrive channel in a natural way that Cog says eliminates the need for side-by-side dry/wet blending. Finally, the pedal can be run at 18 volts for more headroom and dynamics.

The Mini 66 is a streamlined version of the Knighfall 66 that’s squeezed into a 1590A size enclosure. It only has one Gain setting, while the Voice and Tone knobs are replaced by Fat and Cut switches. Both switches have three settings for range and repeatable settings.

The Cog Effects Knightfall 66 and Mini 66 overdrives are available for order with retail prices of $190 and $234, respectively.
