Genzler Amplification’s Bass Array cabinet series has gotten a little bigger. Building on the 12-3 design, the BA210-3 features two 10-inch neodymium drivers in a vented bass reflex enclosure and four 3-inch neodymium drivers in a line array element.
The company says the combo of drivers helps deliver full, deep, low frequency response from the woofers while a selective crossover point “overcomes the ‘beaming’ (pattern narrowing) effects of a full range signal being produced by larger low frequency drivers.” The 3-inch drivers smooth out the midrange and high frequency while lowering distortion at the same time.
“The placement of the line array in front and between the 10” woofers further provides an extremely broad projection, quickness and articulation that is not possible with standard 2×10” designs,” Genzler writes. “Also du to line array principals the all-important mid and high frequencies have a much wider horizontal dispersion with a more controlled vertical pattern. This offers the most even projection possible around the perimeter of the stage and audience.”
The BA210-3 pumps out 500 watts at 8 ohms and weighs in at only 38 pounds. It will be available in July with a price of $1,069.
