Jonathan Moody Releases EP with Sheet Music

Jonathan Moody: Music for Our HandsBassist Jonathan Moody drew on his classical background for his seven-song EP, Music for Our Hands.

Moody, also known in the music industry as GHS Strings’ social media manager and a bow tie aficionado (which he nods to on the EP’s cover), also taps twenty years of gigging in the southwest Michigan music scene for the record and pays homage to his influences.

“Back when I was learning the Bach Cello Suites (on string bass), I was told to get the Dmitri Rostropovich recordings,” he said. “Aside from the musicianship, the way that the recording captured every nuance, breath, bow stroke was exciting. Closing your eyes, you’d think Rostropovich was in the room; that’s what I wanted to convey ultimately with this album.”

The sheet music (notation with accompanying tablature) is also available for all seven songs on the EP.

Music for Our Hands is currently available on Bandcamp and CD Baby.
