Ron Carter Releases New Record With Houston Person

Houston Person & Ron Carter: ChemistryLegendary bassist Ron Carter and saxophonist Houston Person have collaborated for more than 25 years, and their latest release aptly describes their musical relationship: Chemistry.

Carter is known for his prolific recording — he’s appeared on more than 1,100 jazz sessions – his time in the Miles Davis Quintet, and his compositions, as well as for his extensive work with a variety of artists and skills as a cellist. He’s also a faculty member at the renowned Juilliard School, teaching jazz bass.

On the album, the jazz duo offers takes on 10 standards, to great effect, according to an AllMusic review of the album. “Ultimately, Chemistry is a lovely, heartfelt album of well-loved standards imbued with the duo’s decades of experience.”
