Cog Effects Expands Octave Pedal Series

Cog Effects has expanded their analog octave pedal lineup with two new pedals – the T-47 and T-70 – and an update to the T-65 model. “I wanted to make a range of octave pedals that provide valid solutions to guitarists and particularly bassists who are being more and more innovative with the pedals that are available to them,” Cog founder Tom George said. “The new octave range caters to everyone, from a simple thickening of tone all the way through to the foundations of complex synth tones and everywhere in between.”

The T-47 features two independent octave channels complete with Down, Filter, and Clean controls for each side. Down and Clean work as level controls for the octave and clean signals, respectively, while the filter knob shapes the octave down tone. The channels are toggled via footswitch with a second switch to engage or disengage the pedal.

Cog’s mk2 T-65 retains the control set of the original, but has been updated to be more pedalboard-friendly. “The TRS jack for the effects loop has been replaced with individual send and return jacks, and the new Mode footswitch allows you to engage or bypass your effects loop when the T-65 is bypassed – no longer do you sacrifice your effects loop pedals to only be used when the T-65 is engaged, now you can switch them in and out in bypass,” the company website states.

Finally, the T-70 is a monster three-channel octaver. The first two channels are independent T-65’s and the third channel is sub-only. A Bypass Mode toggle switch allows you to select your bypass sound as either clean signal or your effects loop, giving full access to the pedals in the effects loop even when the T-70 is bypassed.

The Cog Effects T-47, T-65 and T-70 are built one at a time in Sheffield, UK. They carry retail prices of $210 for the T-47, $223 for the T-65, and $290 for the T-70.
