Genzler Amplification Expands Magellan Amp and Bass Array Cabinet Lines

Genzler Amplification MG-350/BA10 Combo

Genzler is gearing up for the 2017 Winter NAMM show by unveiling the expansion of their Magellan bass amp line and Bass Array cabinet series. The Magellan 350 and Bass Array BA10-2 will each debut at NAMM as separate pieces as well as a combo unit.

The Magellan 350 pushes out 350 watts while weighing a mere 3.5 pounds. The signal path includes a clean channel as well as a dual-curve variable contour circuit, which offers overall sculpting with either a mid-scoop curve or a low-mid bump with a tapered top end. Its three-band EQ includes a parametric mid-control with a frequency range of 150Hz to 3kHz. Other features include an XLR direct output, a signal mute switch, a headphone output, an auxiliary input, and an impedance selector.

Genzler’s innovative Bass Array series now has the BA10-2, which is fitted with a neodymium 10-inch driver and a line array of four 2.5-inch neodymium full range drivers. “With the Bass Array™ design, the placement of the line array in front of the 10″ woofer provides extremely broad projection, quickness and articulation,” Genzler explains. “As well, the all-important mid and high frequencies have a much wider horizontal dispersion with a more controlled vertical pattern.”

Together, the pair make the Magellan 350/BA 10 combo. The MG-350 is bolted to the BA10-2 using a cradle that can be easily installed, removed, or built upon. “The MG-350 delivers 175 watts as the combo and with an additional BA10-2 extension cabinet puts out 350 watts into this ‘mini-stack,'” they write.

The Genzler Amplification Magellan 350, Bass Array BA10-2, and combo unit will debut at NAMM and are slated to start shipping in February. The MG-350 has a price of $439 while the BA10-2 goes for $569. The combo package will be available for $959.
