Markbass Introduces the EVO 1 Bass Amp

Markbass EVO1 Bass Amp

After introducing the prototype last year, Markbass has unveiled the final version of the EVO 1 bass amp. The innovative head unit offers six amp tones over two channels: one clean and one distorted.

“Bass players have always been inspired by the possibility to mix two amplifiers tones and to blend clean and distorted sounds as Jaco Pastorius did back in the years,” they write. “With the Markbass EVO 1 that’s possible, opening many more sound options experimenting two amps playing simultaneously.”

Each of the channels has standard amp controls plus a knob for an effect. Both the amp control settings and effects can be downloaded from the Markbass site and loaded into the amp. Other features include a MIDI in port, a built-in tuner, an auxiliary input, a headphones output, effects loops, and XLR line outputs. The amp is rated at 500 watts RMS at 4 ohms.

The Markbass EVO1 is expected to ship in the US in the summer with a price around $799.
