Robert Trujillo’s 12-Year-Old Son to Tour with Korn

Tye Trujillo

They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and that seems to be the case in the Trujillo family. Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo’s twelve-year-old son Tye Trujillo will be hitting the road with Korn this month. The news was posted to Korn’s Facebook page, which stated that full-time bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu will have to sit out the South American trek.

“We are bummed Fieldy can’t join us on this run but excited to do a few gigs with a young player like Tye,” the band wrote. “We look forward to welcoming our brother Fieldy back when we return to the States in May.”

Tye, who also holds down the bands NorCal and The Helmets, will join the band for a run of dates in Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Peru starting April 17th. Fieldy will be back in action starting on May 6th at the Carolina Rebellion festival.
