Italia Guitars Unveils the Maranello Cavo Bass
Italia Guitars unveiled a handful of new instruments at Musikmesse this year including the Maranello Cavo Bass. The short-scale, semi-hollow four-stringer is described as “packing an enormous punch in a very comfortable package.”
Available in Racing Green and Translucent Cocoa colors, the retro-styled bass is built with a chambered mahogany body complete with the company’s signature f-hole design, a set mahogany neck, and a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard. For electronics, Italia fits the Cavo with a pair of their Toaster pickups. “The Italia Toaster pickups were dialed in to deliver very tight low-mids and resonant highs, yet without sacrificing the rich juicy lows needed to hold down the rhythm,” they write. Controls include volume, one, and blend knobs.
The Italia Maranello Cavo Bass will be available soon with a street price of $999.
