KHDK Electronics Unveils the Abyss Bass Overdrive Pedal
Kirk Hammett’s KHDK Electronics has introduced the Abyss Bass Overdrive, a pedal they describe as versatile for ultimate control over your tone.
“It provides a warm, tube-like boost and a subtle crunchy overdrive which is perfect for rhythm playing,” they write. “For a more powerful rhythm or soloing, the “hi” setting adds saturation, sustain, low end and compression.”
The secret to this control is in bi-amp technology with two discrete circuits – one for storing the dynamic and color with the second for adding overdrive and punch.
Check out this demo by Slipknot’s Alessandro Venturella:
“I have worked with some of the best bass players in the world,” says Hammett. “Abyss is an homage to the dedication and obsession they have shown in the pursuit of the ultimate tone.”
The KHDK Abyss will be out later this year with a TBD price point.
