Earlier this year, Darkglass Electronics unveiled a new dual distortion pedal called the Alpha Omega. Now they’ve unveiled a new take on the circuit with the Alpha Omicron.
“With the Alpha Omega’s popularity and momentum, we decided it was time for an uncompromising option to those in search of the same bone-crushing sound and flexibility but in a smaller, more affordable format,” They wrote on Facebook.
The new pedal retains the dual distortion design with a Mod knob to select or mix between two distinct circuits: Alpha and Omega. “Alpha is punchy, tight with a lot of definition, whereas Omega is simply brutal and raw,” they explain. Other features include a Blend knob for mixing in clean signal, a Level for setting the overall pedal volume, and a Drive knob for setting the overdrive gain. A Bite switch boosts high mids while the Growl switch is a shelving bass boost for fatter low end.
