Darkglass Electronics Updates Microtubes B3K and Microtubes B7K Pedals

Darkglass Electronics Microtubes B3K and Microtubes B7K Pedals

Darkglass Electronics has refreshed their flagship B3K and B7K pedals for 2017. The Microtubes B7K v2 and Microtubes B3K v2 retain their core circuitry for the Darkglass tone while upgrading features.

“Fundamentally the Microtubes B3K is the same pedal we designed nearly a decade ago, aimed to give you a perfect combination of brutality and clarity,” Darkglass writes. “You can guarantee that this pedal will deliver defined and powerful saturation in an intuitive format.” Their original B3K pedal has had its attack switch replaced by a tone knob, which the company says gives you more control of the higher harmonic content from 3 kHz to 8 kHz. It now has a Mid Boost switch that gives a subtle 6dB boost from 300Hz to 1kHz for cutting through the mix. The Grunt Switch replaces the former three-way toggle and has Raw and Fat modes.

The beefed-up Microtubes B7K v2 adds a frequency switch for the Low Mid that toggles between the standard 1kHz and 500kHz. Similarly, the Hi-Mid frequency can be switched between 3kHz and 1.5kHz. Other features include a four-band EQ, a Level knob, a Drive knob, and a Blend knob as well as Grunt and Attack switches.
