King Crimson Releases “Official Bootleg: Live In Chicago, June 28th, 2017”
King Crimson’s latest formation is captured in a new official bootleg from this summer. Official Bootleg: Live In Chicago, June 28th, 2017 is a two-CD live release featuring the low-end stylings of Tony Levin, who describes the concert as “One of our best.”
The rest of the band includes Mel Collins (Saxes & flute), Robert Fripp (Guitar & keyboards), Gavin Harrison (Drums), Jakko Jakszyk (Guitar & voice), Pat Mastelotto (Drums), Bill Rieflin (Keyboards), and Jeremy Stacey (Drums & keyboards).
Together the group digs into much of the band’s classic songs including some that were performed live by this line-up for the first time. The show included “Islands,” “The Lizard Suite,” “The Errors,” “Fallen Angel,” “Cirkus,” “Indiscipline,” and more. The special edition release includes a 24-page booklet with photographs by Levin, notes by band leader Robert Fripp, and production notes by producer David Singleton.
