The Levin Brothers Announce Live Album, Tour Dates
Tony Levin and his brother Pete have followed up their debut album with a new live release, entitled Special Delivery. Produced three years after the Levin Brothers’ self-titled debut, the new album captures the duo along with saxophonist Erik Lawrence and drummer Jeff Siegel during their 2017 tour.
The quartet tackles mostly original tunes penned by the Levins and Erik Lawrence with a few exceptions. They dish out their own take of Simon and Garfunkel’s “Scarborough Fair” as well as Ennio Morricone’s “Theme From Cinema Paradiso” and Astor Piazzola’s “Milonga Del Angel.” Tony Levin plays electric upright bass and cello throughout.
In addition to the new album, The Levin Brothers announced they’ll be hitting the road again at the beginning of 2018. The trek will begin in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and cover the Northeast before heading to Japan for a string of four dates.
Special Delivery is available now on CD or as a digital download via BandCamp.
