Bass Effects Overview

I recently met a player in Portland who completely blew me away. (We soon realized, we only live two blocks away from each other!) He’s new to town and hasn’t been gigging here yet. His girlfriend plays in the symphony and he’s been getting his bearings in the new city. Long story short, we got together over at his house and he proceeded to blow me away, both with his ability on the instrument as well as his knowledge of and proficiency with pedals, creating soundscapes, looping and all things out of my wheel-house.

I asked him if he would be willing to do a video for No Treble, as I’ve gotten questions in the past about signal chains, combinations of effects to create synth sounds, etc. Not only did I not know how to do those things but, until now, I didn’t even really know who to ask. Zach Rizer is the dude!

So, without further ado, here is a video Zach did for myself and No Treble getting into his pedal rig and how he goes about creating different sounds. It’s packed full of great info!
