Tsakalis AudioWorks Introduces Phonkify and Galactic Pedals
Tsakalis AudioWorks has released two new pedals: the Phonkify envelope filter and the Galactic multi-modulation pedal. As with all of their units, each of the pedals are handmade in Greece.
The Phonkify is inspired by funk and soul music from the 60’s and 70’s. “[It has] two modes of juicy envelope filter (Smooth & Nasty) which turns into wah at the minimum ‘sensitivity’ setting, combined with a unique octave up and/or down effect,” Tsakalis explains. “You can also choose the order of the effects in your signal chain creating a totally different vibe!” The Phonkify has a dedicated footswitch for the octave as well as an expression jack for controlling the range of the envelope.
The Galactic has five separate effects – Phaser, Univibe, Vibrato, Rotary, and Flanger – that can be combined into pairs and mixed with a blend control. “We created 6 different pairs of effects organized in 3 modes selectable by a toggle switch,” they say. “Each mode features 2 pairs select-able by a foot-switch giving you the ability of unlimited and unique sounds.” For even more control, the pedal has three input jacks to let you control Speed, Depth, and Blend on the fly.
The Tsakalis AudioWorks Phonkify will carry a suggested retail price of $215 and the Galactic will go for $296. Both units are available for pre-order with shipping later this month.
