Anthony Wellington Announces Bassology At Sea

Bassology At Sea (featured image)Renowned bass educator Anthony Wellington has announced Bassology At Sea, a six-day cruise that will be both a vacation and an education. The cruise will depart from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on November 10th and return November 15th.

“This camp will be open to all electric bassists. It’ll also be open to other musicians who want to learn more about music theory,” Wellington stated on Facebook. “This camp will be open to all levels! Beginner to advanced. All that I require is that you be serious, dedicated and disciplined! I’d rather work with a beginner who is serious about learning than work with an advanced player who isn’t serious and has a terrible work ethic.”

Participants will receive two Skype or in-person lessons before the cruise, which will include two days at sea for bass and music theory master classes as well as excursions to Cozumel, Mexico and Key West, Florida. There will be optional evening Q&A sessions and a raffle to win a high-end custom bass.

Besides being an astounding teacher, Wellington plays bass in the Victor Wooten Band. For a taste of his teaching style, check out this clip from the DVD Groove Workshop:

The price for Bassology At Sea starts at $1,165. Deposits are due by May 5th. The price includes two private bass lessons before the cruise, bass classes during the cruise, cabin, taxes and certain fees. Airfare, airport transportation, shore excursion, and gratuities are not included. For more info, check out the Bassology At Sea website.

Anthony Wellington is by far one of the best bass/music instructors in the industry, his concept of music/teaching is unconventional and extremely unique.
In my professional opinion he’s one of the best…He will definitely put you through the grind but you will definitely come out a better musician and a better bassist..
