Glenn Hughes Announces Classic Deep Purple Live Tour Dates

Glenn Hughes

Rock legend Glenn Hughes will be revising part of his earlier days in music this year with a 17-date tour. “Classic Deep Purple Live” will showcase the bassist/vocalist’s time in Deep Purple during the MKIII and MKIV lineups. Hughes was a member of the group from 1973 to 1976 and was featured on four studio albums: Burn, Stormbringer, Come Taste The Band, and Made in Europe.

“I’m excited to be touring the “Classic Deep Purple Live” in the US late this Summer,” he wrote on his website. “I first toured Classic Deep Purple Live in Australia and New Zealand last year and it went down like a storm. We’re also touring the show throughout South America in April, and international festivals throughout the Summer. By the time we tour the US, then the UK in October, we’ll be on fire.”

He’s already taken the show to Europe, where he performed songs from that era plus a handful of Deep Purple classics from the MKII era. The North American tour will kick off August 25th in Westbury, New York and focus on the Northeast before wrapping up on September 22nd in Tarrytown, New York.
