Chic: “Good Times” Live at Montreux

Chic closed the 2004 Montreux Jazz Festival with a bang. Among the tunes the group performed was their big hit “Good Times”. Bassist Jerry Barnes laid down the funky and iconic bass line and got the crowd going during the bass-drums-vocal break. Old school.

The folks at Dangerous Guitars said they brought together these musicians and asked them to “deliver us something ‘off the top of their heads.‘ Unscripted… unrehearsed… and uncanny.” Pretty cool!

November 27th is Jimi Hendrix’s birthday. Bassist Viaceslav Svedov decided to share his “small tribute to a big legend” on that day, which would have been Hendrix’s 72nd birthday.
