Olivier Babaz has done it again. The bass and kalimba king has transformed another rock gem onto the two instruments simultaneously. This time Babaz tackles Radiohead’s “Paranoid Android”, trading the song’s focus between each instrument while nimbly navigating them with his right hand. The result is an ethereal and intimate take on an already epic piece of music.

Kike Mora shared this video of him performing a solo bass arrangement of The Beatles’ “Yesterday.” We couldn’t think of a better day to share this video than today, which is Paul McCartney’s birthday.

Bassist Kinga Glyk stunned us all with this excellent cover of a cover of “Tears In Heaven.” The original is by Eric Clapton. Kinga’s all-bass performance is a cover of the one by Jeff Berlin.

Bassist Ben Titus sent in this awesome looping arrangement of the Imagine Dragons hit “Radioactive”, and I’m glad he did. He gets a gorgeous tone from his six-string and creates a perfect pad with his chord voicings.

Andy McKee’s performance of “Drifting” has been viewed millions of time on YouTube and elsewhere. Now bassist Dmitry Lisenko has shared his solo acoustic bass guitar version of McKee’s tune.

Over the years, Ian Pettersson has offered some great video suggestions to us. Now he’s shared one of his own: a solo bass tribute to Prince. Here’s Ian’s take on Prince’s hit, “Kiss”.

David Piggott teaches music at his studio, Piggott Music. One of his students is Kayla Malik. They recently recorded their own bass and vocals arrangement of Coldplay’s “Fix You”. David said this was the first time he heard Kayla sing. “Because everyone has lost something in their life… I hope you enjoy this [arrangement],” David shared.

Zander Zon is back with another stunning arrangement, this time covering the theme from Game of Thrones. I feel as though I’m the only person on the planet who doesn’t watch Game of Thrones, so after I listened to Zander’s arrangement, I went back and listened to the original.

Simon Fitzpatrick has taken the third suite of Gustav Holst’s “The Planets Suite” and turned it into an all bass arrangement, using his Sei Bass Flamboyant 6 bass. Mind blown!

Nik West shared this on Facebook, and it knocked me (and a lot of other people) out. In this video, the bassist/vocalist takes on Musiq Soulchild’s “Just Friends” with lots of style. “I wanted to try out this new Fender Jazz Elite Bass,” she shared. You made it sound great, Nik!
