Billy Sheehan, Clint Strong, and Mike Gage: Dangerous Improv

Dangerous Guitars invited three top musicians into the studio to play together for the very first time. Those musicians included bassist Billy Sheehan, guitarist Clint Strong and drummer Mike Gage. The folks at Dangerous Guitars said they brought together these musicians and asked them to “deliver us something ‘off the top of their heads.‘ Unscripted… unrehearsed… and uncanny.” Pretty cool!

Niacin: Blood, Sweat & Beers

Dennis Chambers is on the short list of drummers I’d love to play with, and I’m sure most bass players would agree. Billy Sheehan is one of those bassists lucky enough to do just that, in the band Niacin. Here’s the trio with John Novello on keys performing “Blood, Sweat & Beers.” This one grooves. Oh yeah.

Bass of the Week: Jon Willis’ Billy Sheehan “Wife” Bass Replica

Jon Willis shared a photo of his pride and joy on our Facebook page, and needless to say I was floored by the instrument. But the story behind it is even better. Both of these guys are still going strong and still knocking me out with their virtuosity. Here’s the dream team quartet – also including drummer...
