Here’s a great video from bassists Stan Sargeant and Juan Nelson. The bass duo is jamming at the Ernie Ball Music Man booth during Bass Player Live in 2009. Stan is playing a Bongo 6, upside down and left-handed. Juan is on a Sterling 5.

I stumbled upon this cool documentary style clip of Juan Nelson recently, where he discusses his early (and funny) musical years and his break from working with Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals. He even plays a little upright. Anyone know if this is part of a larger project?

I discovered Juan Nelson thanks to Ben Harper, and have been a fan ever since. I only hope Ben comes back to the Innocent Criminals one day. Here’s Juan doing his thing, playing bass and singing, live with Ben Harper:
