Former Journey bassist Ross Valory has announced his debut solo album is coming this April. “All of the Above” is described as the first of three “experimental” albums from Valory, who has been crafting his own musical ideas for decades.

Last month, many fans were shocked when Journey members Ross Valory and Steve Smith were fired from the band for what a lawsuit called a “corporate coup d’etat.” Now the plot has thickened as Valory has countersued.

In a shocking turn of events, Journey has fired drummer Steve Smith and bassist Ross Valory. The news was broken by a press release by the law firm Miller Barondess, LLP.

Harmonically clever and tonally unique, Ross Valory’s playing can be heard on most of Journey’s catalog and the hits that we know and love (or have heard a thousand times), certifying him as the latest Bass Player to Know.

Every year, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s class of inductees tends draws the ire of music fans around the world, but this year’s list seems to be a good fit.
