In 2016, Stuart Clayton of Bassline Publishing released a full transcription book for Stuart Hamm’s solo album, “The Book of Lies.” Now he’s done it again with a note-for-note book on “Hold Fast,” which Hamm dropped earlier this year.

Stu Hamm has returned with a new solo album, Hold Fast, which is his most prog-leaning effort to date. The bass icon says that the music came in its own time.

Stu Hamm has announced a new solo album and he’s asking for fans to help make it happen. “Hold Fast” is set to be the most prog-rock material the bassist has ever written or released, he says.

Bassists Alberto Rigoni and Michael Manring have teamed up release an instrumental album called “Grains of Sand” that ranges from prog to fusion and ambient sounds. The duo has worked together before, most recently on Rigoni’s “Song for Souls.”

Stu Hamm has just launched a new video course with ArtistiWorks. The bassist, known for his solo playing as well as credits with Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, teaches a wide range of lessons with basic, intermediate, and advanced sections.

Jason Raso has released a new album called “Stringspan” that compiles fifteen songs from a decade of collaborations. Special guests on the record include bass royalty like Billy Sheehan, Stuart Hamm, Rich Brown, and Alain Caron.

Back in July, Mike Portnoy, Stu Hamm, Paulie Z, Walter Ino got together virtually to record something in support of the David Z Foundation. They chose Rush’s “YYZ” as the tune, and Stu threw in some cool slap and tap lines throughout.

The lineup includes Stu Hamm, Michael Manring, Janek Gwizdala, Hadrien Feraud, and Damian Erskine.

Drummer Gergo Borlai has just released his new album, The Missing Song, which serves as a tribute to all the influential drummers that have inspired him. Although it’s drum-centric, Borlai is joined by an unbelievable cast of bassists for the record.

Ove Bosch has announced a new online bass camp called BassCon Online. Bosch, who was the organizer and host of the Warwick Bass Camp, has confirmed four top-shelf bassists for the event: Leland Sklar, Stuart Hamm, John Patitucci, and Guy Pratt.

Ariane Cap and Josh Cohen have teamed up to create Solo Bass Night, a performance series that features and promotes solo bass music. The concerts have their roots from an event nearly 15 years ago.
