BASS PLAYER NEEDED FOR ORIGINAL POP BAND WITH MANAGEMENT AND STUDIO (Metro Boston/New England)
Posted on 03/05 | Respond to this post on Craigslist -
East Coast Music Talent is searching for a Bass Player for an Original Pop Band going national later this year. The band is currently recording its debut CD and is looking for a dedicated Bass Player that can rehearse one to two times per week. This exciting and innovative band has dedicated members that are experienced and their music is very commercial. You must be able to play Commercial Top 40 Modern Rock and have the ability to play retro style Classic Rock grooves in a bluesy and rocking style in a rootsy way. This is a band that strictly plays Commercial Pop Top 40 Rock that will be played on Top 40 stations. This is NOT a Hard Rock or Metal band.
The band has a lot of perks which include the opportunity to bring in your own songs into the band's repertoire, revenue sharing in various different ways, management and legal representation, their own recording studio with free recording time, free mastering time, free plush rehearsal space and many other really great things.
The ultimate candidate will be required to rehearse one to two times per week and have good equipment and transportation. You also should be able to read Chord Charts as well as learn your parts quickly and effectively by ear. If you have the ability to sing backup or lead, that is also a great bonus, but singing is not required. If you do not have a car, you might be able to carpool to rehearsals with other band members, but we would prefer if you had your own reliable transportation.
This is an excellent opportunity to hook up with a band that will tour as a headliner and opener on a national scale. The band's first CD is set for release to record companies by June of this year. If you wish to audition for the band, please call Jimi Zimmardi at East Coast Music Talent at 617 924 3868. We will accept Email inquiries at jazprod@aol.com, but we would prefer if you call us directly weekdays between 10AM and 6PM. You may also leave a voicemail at our office after hours.
If you are a serious Bass Player with an easy going personality and great attitude and you know how to groove, this is an excellent opportunity to go out on tour and make good money. We look forward to speaking with you.

I need an upright bass player who can sing (Central Vermont)
Posted on 02/28 | Respond to this post on Craigslist -
I have a band. We are an un-power trio, and we play original punkabluey skifflecana (dont snag that term, I made it up, copyright 12/2009!). This is material that I have been playing solo for years, touring ski areas, bars and colleges from VT to OR. Influences of this project run through the genres of blues, rockabilly, punkabilly, skiffle, bluegrass, gospel, rock, country, country blues, americana, and more. We sound (quite unintentionally) very similar to Hamburg era Beatles.
I need a strong upright bass player with a good tenor range and a strong ear for harmonies.
This project will work 2-4 nights a week, throughout New England and NYC. Ski areas and colleges are lining up for this project, and I am an excellent and motivated booking agent, and am developing relationships with other more accomplished booking agents.
The next studio project for this band will be recorded and produced by the folks who engineered Foghat and Nick Jameson, among many, many others.
I am looking ideally for a Berklee grad or dropout who wants to help me build this project and get out on the road. I have a drummer, and even an upright bass. I just need the player.
Rehearsals will be minimal. Project will be worked in bars (it would help if you were over 21, but as long as youre over 18, we can work around) over the summer, colleges in the fall (hopefully a tour west/south), ski areas in the winter (hopefully a tour west), colleges in the spring (you guessed it, hopefully a tour west/south), and festivals the following summer. Further, we are hoping for a tour or two of Europe in there (for that one, we would head east).
I can help you get settled and find work here in VT, when it comes to that. I already have a booking showcase and a couple of gigs in ink. -
