Heavy Bass Player Needed (Round Lake)
Posted on 02/27  |  Respond to this post on Craigslist
We are currently in search of a power driven bass player to join our original band and a few covers. Looking to record and tour by summer. We are a concert style group as opposed to a bar band and looking for a dedicated bass player that is into the heavy vein. No Seifeld type slappers please. Must look the part. Practice in Round Lake but drummer lives in Chicago. We've been doing this for a long while and are dead serious about this band. We are a bit like old school Black Sabbath but have many influences. Please cal Louie after 6:00 PM at 847-848-6411.

Bass Player Wanted For Cover Band

We are a steady working rock/pop cover band making respectable money and having a lot of fun along the way. We have been together for years and are currently looking for a new bass player. Here is what we are looking for.

Your skills:
Bass: We are looking for someone who plays rock/pop bass & plays it very well. You must be a skilled bass player with a good ear and an appreciation for the role of the rhythm section. We prefer a finger style bassist. If you are a multi-instrumental guy, that’s great, but please don’t respond if bass is secondary for you. We don’t want a guitar player who “also plays bass” if you know what we mean.
Backing Vocals: You must be able to contribute to the backing vocals. This includes singing some 2 and 3 part vocal harmonies so your pitch should be good. You are NOT required to be a lead vocalist – we have one of those already.

Your availability:
You MUST be available for gigs most Fridays and Saturdays and occasional weekdays. We played 60 shows last year and will play even more this year. You will also need to rehearse as required – about twice per month.
You will have some weekends off too so you can go out or stay home… just like normal people (non-musicians) do!

You personally:
You must be able to appreciate that we are in business AND we are in a band to have fun. Fun & Money share the spotlight in our philosophy. Yes, you CAN do both! You should be the type of person who enjoys playing music, enjoys performing on stage, and enjoys mingling with fans. If you are a loner or someone who “does mot like people”, this is probably not the situation for you. We take our BUSINESS seriously, but we don’t take OURSELVES too seriously. We are looking for someone with a similar outlook.

Your situation:
You must have high-quality reliable gear and provide your own (reliable) transportation.

Your appearance:
While you are on stage, you must have a look about you that is consistent with being in a rock band. This doesn’t imply anything extreme: you don’t have to be a perfect physical specimen or wear goofy costumes. As corny and superficial as it sounds, you should have some sort of a “look” about you. Ideally, you should be the kind of person that people will look at and say, “He looks like he’s in a band”.

So… you want to make money and have fun playing bass in a cover band? Tell us about yourself. And tell us where we can see & hear you (myspace, youtube, etc.)
Bass player for edgy rock n roll

We are all adults here and are looking for the same to play bass in our established band. Our style is rock n roll and punk rock. We play solos and have some spots for bass solos. We have many original songs and occasionally play a cover tune or two. We rehearse in Chicago. We would prefer that you have your own equipment and transportation. We do 1-3 gigs per month and rehearse once a week. We are in this for fun but also like to make good, modern rock n roll.
