Motörhead has been issuing anniversary editions of their albums, and now the time has come for their seminal record, “Ace of Spades”. The highly influential album will be released in Special 40th Anniversary and Deluxe Collector’s Box-Set formats.

The Pretenders have released their 11th studio album, entitled “Hate For Sale”, which serves as a grounding back to the group’s straight-ahead rock. It once again features bassist Nick Wilkinson, who slips between the album’s varying styles with ease.

Jazz legend Ron Carter has been quarantined in his home just like most of us, but this weekend he will be playing a gig with his Golden Striker Trio. The group will perform a special live stream from the Village Vanguard on July 24th and 25th.

Session bassist and author Dan Hawkins has just released a new instructional book. “100 Funk Grooves for Electric Bass” is an 88-page book that dives into the style with a focus on techniques, essential scales, and the groove styles of funk players.

The Berklee Bass Department/Bass Vault weekly bass hang is on again with an incredible lineup. Hosted by Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey, and John Patitucci, “Solo Bass-Shed” will focus on bassists known for their solo work. The lineup includes Stu Hamm, Michael Manring, Janek Gwizdala, Hadrien Feraud, and Damian Erskine.
