ArtistWorks Opens Online Bass School with John Patitucci, Nathan East and Missy Raines

ArtistWorks bass instructors: Nathan East, John Patitucci and Missy Raines

ArtistWorks has extended their online music-based learning community with the announcement of a new Bass Campus. The company has recruited three renowned bassists to offer up a wide range of bass education, with John Patitucci (Jazz Bass School), Nathan East (School of Rock & Pop Bass) and Missy Raines (Bluegrass Bass School).

Like all of ArtistWorks education programs, the Bass Campus utilizes the company’s video-based learning platform, allowing members and faculty to stream video lessons and submit practice videos at their own pace. Each submission is reviewed by the artist via video, with additional instruction and feedback. These video exchanges are made available throughout ArtistWorks’ online community to expand the curriculum in a more organic way than traditional forms of study. The format seems to fit the bass instructors well.

“It’s exciting to me to know that I will be interacting with students personally,” says East. “When you record a DVD – it’s done. Now I will get to respond to students’ playing and be directly engaged in watching their progress.”

“I enjoy teaching and sharing my passion for music with my students – but I am always limited to the amount of students who can come to me,” Patitucci adds. “My online bass school will me to teach students all over the world, without them ever having to leave home.”

Subscription fees are priced at $90.00 for three months of study, $150.00 for 6 months and $240.00 for a 12-month subscription through the ArtistWorks website.

  1. Anyone tried that yet? Too bad there’s no option to learn jazz bass from Patituci on bass guitar.

  2. Luv this! such a great option for Bass players! Peace and Love.
