Schecter Teams Up With Michael Anthony for Signature Bass

Ex-Van Halen and current The Circle bassist Michael Anthony has a brand new signature bass from Schecter Guitars. Available in production and custom shop versions, the bass is a take on their Model T with updates to suit Anthony’s playing style.

Schecter Michael Anthony Signature Diamond Series Bass

The Diamond Series Michael Anthony Bass is built in South Korea with an Alder body, maple and walnut neck, and rosewood fretboard. The Carbon Grey finish is accented by creme binding as well as creme dot inlays. Its neck is slimmed down from the original Model T with a 1.496” nut and 12”-radius fingerboard. Schecter worked with Anthony to create the USA MonsterTone P/J pickup set, which are controlled via 3-way switch as well as volume and tone knobs. Hardware includes a WSC THD4 bridge and WSC KG400 tuners.

Schecter Michael Anthony Signature USA Production Bass

The USA Production version retains many of the same features with finer details. The neck is upgraded to a five-piece quarter sawn hard rock maple and walnut neck with an Indian rosewood fretboard. The frets are Jescar premium German silver, and the creme dots are replaced by pearl dot inlays. All the hardware and electronics are updated to custom versions, including a custom Hi-Mass machined brass bridge, custom bass tuners with a Hipshot Drop D, and Schecter Custom Wound MonsterTone PJ pickups. The USA version offers three finishes: 3Tone Sunburst, Carbon Grey, and Rat Rod. The pickguard options are a tortoise pickguard with chrome hardware or an aircraft aluminum guard with black powder coating and black hardware.

The Schecter Michael Anthony Signature Basses are available soon with prices of $899 for the Diamond Series version and $3,495 for the USA Custom Shop bass.
