Deep Purple’s “=1” Now Available
Deep Purple has released a new album. =1 follows their late career run of number 1 albums Whoosh!, inFinite, and NOW What?!. The rock legends once again worked with producer Bob Ezrin to craft an album that “evokes the pioneering band’s classic sound, without relying on nostalgia.”
Bassist Roger Glover says there’s still a freshness to the group and they’re still having fun. That’s evidenced in the songs on =1.
“Songs evolve rather than are written,” he told ABC Audio. “And it starts with a sort of jam session for a week or so. We just have fun, play this and play that, and then pick out the ones that are most promising.”
