Deep Grooves and Karma: Pops Magellan’s Latest Track Showcases Her Evolution

Pops Magellan: Funk Karma

After releasing “Misunderstood” and “Deep Thoughts” last year, Pops Magellan is back with a new hit for 2025. “Funk Karma” pushes the Los Angeles-based bassist’s artistic vision even further with baller bass grooves and unique tones.

The song blends electronic sounds with live instrumentation as Magellan welcomes guests Artur Menezes and Chris Payton on guitar, Swatkins on synths, and Justin Brown on drums.

“This track is about karma as personal responsibility and the power of the mind in reshaping emotions, actions, and what we attract,” Pops shares. “This track is where I find myself now, it’s my evolution, and I’m not afraid to show where I’m at anymore. I put a lot of care into every detail, but I also let things flow more freely this time.”

“Funk Karma” is the third single to be released from Magellan’s upcoming EP, Damage. The solo album is another thread in the fabric of her career that includes work with Willow, Adam Lambert, Avril Lavigne, Travis Barker, and others. Find out more about Pops and her life in our recent interview.

“Funk Karma” is streaming now on digital platforms like Apple Music, Amazon Music, and more.
