Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals Return: New Bassist Steps In After Juan Nelson’s Passing
Prepare to get your groove on this summer. Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals have announced a North American tour that will go from coast to coast from May through August. The singer-songwriter and his crew will be performing fan-favorites from his entire catalog and tracks from his latest album, 2023’s Wide Open Light.
The current lineup of the Innocent Criminals includes guitarist Alex Painter, drummer Oliver Charles, keyboardist Chris Joyner, and bassist Darwin Johnson, who joined the group following the great Juan Nelson’s passing. Johnson is noted for his work with Colbie Caillet, Jesse McCartney, Kelly Clarkson, and many more.
Things kick off on May 30th in Washington, DC before heading north as far as Toronto, Onario’s famed Massey Hall. From there, the Innocent Criminals will head west to wind up in Los Angeles, California on August 24th at The Orpheum.
