Goose Drops Surprise Album “Chain Yer Dragon,” Driven by Trevor Weekz’s Bass Lines

Goose has dropped a surprise new album called Chain Yer Dragon, which marks their second full-length studio effort for 2025. The band showed up on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to announce the album and debut the second track from the album, “Madalena.”

The band, anchored by bassist Trevor Weekz, compiled the album from older compositions, many being fan favorites they’ve performed for years. Guitarist Rick Mitarotonda says the collection gives them all a place to be.

“There’s a world-building component that feels like the driving force of this record,” he explains. “Many of these character-driven songs come from a time and place where we were finding our voice musically, and it’s been so gratifying to not only revisit it through the lens of who and where we are now, but to expand on it. These songs have been on a journey, and it feels right for them to finally have a home now.”

Weekz provides the backbone for each song while locking in with drummer Cotter Ellis. Check out his use of movement on “Echo of a Rose” to give the song motion without taking away focus from the melody.

Chain Yer Dragon is out now on streaming services including Apple Music. and Amazon Music. CD and vinyl editions will be shipping November 14th.
