Chicago Gets the Full Groove from Brandon Boone and Tedeschi Trucks Band (VIDEO)
Chicago got the best of both worlds with Gov’t Mule starting the night and Tedeschi Trucks Band closing it out. Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks led their powerhouse ensemble through a set that was packed with fire soul and pure groove.
Holding it all down was Brandon Boone. Switching between his Moollon P Bass and his Wilcock basses and running it all through an Ampeg rig Boone delivered tone that was both massive and locked in. His playing gave the band its weight and its drive while also leaving space for the horns Derek’s guitar and Susan’s voice to soar
