Dream Theater Announces “Quarantième: Live à Paris” Album From 40th Anniversary Tour

Ever since drum titan Mike Portnoy rejoined the band, Dream Theater has been hitting the road pretty hard. In fact, they’re in the middle of “An Evening with Dream Theater,” which will run through October.
Fans have noticed a renewed energy from the kings of prog rock, and now the magic will be preserved forever. Dream Theater has announced a new live album called Quarantième: Live à Paris that was captured during their 40th anniversary tour. The band’s lineup includes vocalist James LaBrie, guitarist John Petrucci, keyboardist Jordan Rudess, drummer Mike Portnoy, and bass monster John Myung.
“We always knew this tour would be unforgettable because not only were we celebrating 4 decades since forming the band, but also the reunion of the band’s classic lineup,” says Portnoy. “The excitement and emotions between us and our fans at each and every show were palpable and totally off the charts! The night captured here in Paris was an epic evening that we can now share with the whole world to celebrate this incredible tour.”
As part of the anniversary tour, the band dug into fan favorites from deeper in their catalog as well as new hits. That includes everything from “Metropolis Pt. 1” to “Panic Attack” to “Octavarium.”
Myung is on fire in this clip of “O“Overture 1928 / Strange Déjà Vu,” which is streaming now.
