Soul Coughing’s 2025 “Still Loves You” Tour Marks Reunion With Original Lineup and Steinberg’s Iconic Bass Lines

Last year, Soul Coughing reunited for a sold-out Fall 2024 tour that marked their first shows in 25 years. The group hit the road again this spring, and now they’re back at it again with a December tour called “Soul Coughing Still Loves You.”
The tour will run from December 5th to the 14th, beginning in Ohio and wrapping up in Michigan. The Midwest run will also see them passing through Indiana, Kentucky, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
Soul Coughing is once again comprised of its four original members: Mark degli Antoni on keyboards and sampler, Mike Doughty on vocals and guitar, Yuval Gabay on drums, and Sebastian Steinberg on bass. Ever since the band’s formation in 1992, Steinberg’s thumping and melodic double bass lines have given Soul Coughing its distinct character. Aside from his work with the quartet, Steinberg has also performed with Eddie Vedder, Ed O’Brien, Marc Ribot, k.d. lang, Fiona Apple, and more.
The band’s unique and artistic approach has made them an influential force for decades. “After the eclectic collection of musicians that comprise the band first met at New York City’s storied Knitting Factory, Soul Coughing merged the disparate sounds of drum & bass, trance, rock & roll, and hip-hop to create their own truly unique strain of music,” a press release explains.
