Hear James LoMenzo on Megadeth’s “Tipping Point,” From the Band’s Upcoming Final Album

Megadeth 2025

In August, Megadeth announced that they would release one final album in 2026, accompanied by a farewell tour. Now, we have a taste of what to expect from the self-titled grand finale.

The band has released the first single, “Tipping Point,” while opening the album to pre-orders. A press release calls it a “sonically explosive and lyrically unflinching song.”

“We all have different ‘tipping points’ and they may vary from day to day,” bandleader Dave Mustaine states on the Megadeth website. “I think we’re all being pushed to the edge right now, and it’s easy to lean into that feeling. But it’s important not to let things get you down.”

Megadeth’s current lineup includes Mustaine, guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari, bassist James LoMenzo, and drummer Dirk Verbeuren. LoMenzo was a member of the band from 2006 to 2010 and rejoined as a touring member in 2021, subsequently becoming a full-time member again the following year. He appeared on 2007’s United Abominations and 2009’s Endgame, making the upcoming record his first with the band in 17 years.
