Pops Magellan Showcases Her Bass-Driven Solo Music in New FRET12 Session

Pops Magellan has touched down at FRET12 for a new live session, and she brought plenty of low end cargo with her.

Pops runs through three songs from her debut EP, DAMAGE, switching between a Alien Green Yamaha BBP34 and a short scale Music Man bass. No matter which four string is in her hands, the signal gets beamed through an Ampeg rig for a tone that feels ready to rattle a few satellites.  FRET12 has been releasing live sessions for quite a while and they have become a favorite around No Treble. The space is home to a guitar shop but FRET12 is also a rock and roll lifestyle outpost, packed with clothing, artwork, books, gear, and plenty more.

Magellan’s playing stays rooted in the groove but there is always enough melody and motion to keep things floating beyond the atmosphere.
